Now, who of you are familiar with No Method? A Cape Town based electronic music duo that was formed in 2017 by DJ & Producer Sam World & South African vocalist Claire Rose. Yes, you heard right! Our very own Claire Rose.
No Method gained instant viral success with the release of their first single which has now been viewed & streamed over 100 million times on YouTube, Apple Music, Spotify and Soundcloud with major radio plays in continental Europe, Asia, North and South America.
“I was always interested in what went on behind the scenes, I would take notice of the how and why things would fail or succeed online, this definitely sparked my interest in Digital Marketing.” – Claire Rose
She is diverse in a variety of business sectors, running online platforms for various businesses and brands and is always looking for new and trendy ways to be ahead of the curve. She is passionate about supporting local talent, businesses, entrepreneurs and communities which is what Love My Cape Town City in itself stands for.
LMB: What motivates you?
Claire Rose: “The people around me. Having a supportive and positive group of people around you is the best thing you can do for yourself.”
LMB: During lockdown and most of 2020, what kept you busy?
Claire Rose: “TikTok funnily enough, I had started posting singing videos and it gained a lot of traction gaining me over 80000 followers.”
LMB. What motto do you live by?
Claire Rose: “Know your vision. I believe if you have a vision and know where you are going in life then you will without a doubt get there. Dream big.”
LMB: Where do you draw your inspiration from?
Claire Rose: “I draw inspiration from different people around me like my family, community, people I look up to, my church etc. You can learn a lot from someone and gain great value from peoples’ stories.”
LMB. Your get up and go anthem?
Claire Rose: “I cannot pin-point one specific song. My music taste is varied and I get motivation from different songs depending on the day.”
LMB: If you could meet anyone, living or no longer with us, who would it be and why?
Claire Rose: “Esther from the Bible. Her story has impacted me since I was a child. She teaches you to be courageous and even though life throughout the years has found a way to knock me down, the reminder from her story has always kept me going and helped me to step out of my comfort zone and be courageous in every aspect of my life.”
LMB: Are you working on any new music currently?
Claire Rose: “I have taken a break from music while building my name as a digital marketer. Would love to get back into writing music in the near future.”
LMB: What do you love most about Cape Town?
Claire Rose: “It’s home. I have lived here my whole life and I find that even after so many years, I still haven’t experienced it in its entirety.”
